I have received conflicting information about the safety of medications during pregnancy and breastfeeding, what should I believe?
This is a tough question. The internet is a great source of information, but not all the information is reviewed for scientific accuracy. Similarly, your pharmacist can provide you the information from the Physicians Desk Reference (PDR). The PDR is essentially a compiled set of package inserts that represents limited information in many cases. The references on our web site include some of the most reputable sources of information. Even these articles and books are typically 1-2 years behind the available research information. Please remember that none of these sources take into account your individual situation and the severity of the illness.
